Celebrate AAPI Heritage Month – CCS Present “Nostalgia”

May 18, 2021

Center for Community Services will host an online “Nostalgia” event on May 28th at 7:30 p.m. We warmly invited everyone to participate and share their nostalgia for the past and vision for a better future. This event is a special way for Center for Community Services to express their sentiments following various activities celebrating Asia Pacific Month across the United States.

In the past year, Center for Community Service has conducted numerous activities to serve the local community during the pandemic. One such activity was “Hua Yi Xuan,” which included calligraphy, painting, singing, medicine, fitness, and handicrafts. Even the elderly successfully participated via Zoom, creating an engaging experience for the audience. Additionally, in collaboration with the Minnesota Huaxing Art Troupe, we organized 17 series of exquisite dance and music lectures every Sunday morning from August to February. Finally, our family Spring Festival Gala brought warmth and entertainment to everyone during the winter season. These activities aimed to promote health and happiness in life through lively dancing and joyful singing.

“Sunset Chorus” was an online chorus that received positive feedback from everyone. The active participation and excellent performance enhanced the cultural experience for everyone during the epidemic. Encouraged by the success of these events, the leaders of the Community Service Center and Overseas Chinese Support Center decided to organize a special event called “Nostalgia” during Asia-Pacific Month.
